Instructions     
 
Note: All to dry between painting steps.
Preparation: Sand box well and tack cloth to remove dust. Apply Multi-Purpose Sealer to box. Allow to dry thoroughly.Lightly sand again; remove dust.
1. Transfer pattern.
2. Basecoat outside and inside of box Blue Harbor.
3. Basecoat bird Sea Glass.
4. Basecoat eggshell Snow White.
5. Basecoat nest Spicy Mustard.
6. Basecoat leaves Sour Apple.
7. With Snow White, stipple, then dry brush, head, wings, and body of bird.
8. Double-load fabric dye brush with Snow White and Spicy Mustard. Stipple, then dry-brush center of bird nest and sides of eggshell.
9. Double-load fabric dye brush with Snow White and Sour Apple. Dry-brush center and tips of leaves; float tops of leaves.
10. Basecoat beak Spicy Mustard.
11. Float Snow White to highlight straw in nest, making straw tops and ends
brightest; highlight beak.
12. Float Honey Brown to shade straw, shading underneath each piece of straw; shade beak.
13. With Light Cinnamon, deepen shading in straw and one beak; outline twigs.
14. Mix Sour Apple and Forest Green 1:1 and shade leaves.
15. Deepen shading on leaves with Forest Green.
16. Shade bird with 1:1 mix of Sea Glass and Turquoise Blue.
17. Very lightly stipple cheeks and bird's tummy with Coral Blush. With very little paint in brush, dry brush nest, leaves, wings, and very lightly on sides of eggshell.
18. Basecoat heart Coral Blush.
19. Double-load brush with Coral Blush and Light Cinnamon, and float to shade heart.
20. Mix equal parts Light Cinnamon and Lamp Black. With mix outline everything; base eyes; and stroke on eyebrows.
21. Dot eyes with Snow White.
22. Mask off 1" stripes around sides of box with painter's tape.
23. Base Spicy Mustard stripes around sides of box.
24. Mix Warm White and Spicy Mustard 80 percent to 20 percent and base stripes around sides of box with mix.
25. Float Honey Brown to shade bottom of stripes.
26. Paint over leaves with Limelight.
27. Paint over heart with Sizzling Red.
28. Paint over eggshell and Warm White/Spicy Mustard stripes with Ice Crystal.
29. Apply two coats of DuraClear Satin Varnish to inside and outside of box, allowing to dry thoroughly between applications.
